Weigh in!

Today the RN from the state came and did another developmental check-up on the twins.

Kenzington is 14lb 5oz and 24 1/2in long.
Oakley is 14lbs 13oz and 24 3/4in long.

They both are on track with grabbing at things, kicking their legs and arms and being vocal.
She wants us to work more on tummy time since Kenzington seems to be a little lazy with it. :p
She would also like us to keep showing them how to grab at things and hold onto them by lowering and lifting things  at different lvls.
All in all they are doing great and gaining weight perfectly. Most people when they seem them don't even notice they were born 2 months early. We plan on doing another developmental check-up next month.

So proud of my little munchkins and how well they are progressing!

Babies

The Mr and I just finished watching the movie: Babies
I saw advertising for this film when it was first being released and at the time I was pregnant thinking this would be a good film to watch.

FINALLY getting around to it, I couldn't be happier!  It was such a good documentary following the growth and development of 4 babies from Mongolia to San Francisco.
We couldn't help but sit and laugh at some of the things that reminded us of our kids, or things that we did to entertain them. Also marvel over how other cultures took care of and nurtured their newborns/toddlers.

One particular scene was when the father from Japan had his daughter on the bed shaking the rattle vigorously to entertain her.  This is something the twins dad does on a daily basis!

If you are pregnant, have kids, or are thinking of kids this is a great movie all around and I strongly suggest taking a peek. :)

Olives and Applesauce

I came upon this carrier brand through another twin mom.
Olives & Applesauce  is a soft fitting carrier created to fit snug and higher on the waste.  Instead of those carriers I've seen that sit low on the hip pulling on the pants and such.

They also make inserts to make it usable from new borns then leaving room for growth!  The store has in stock styles but also giving you the option to make your own custom carrier with the fabric of your choice.

If you have the money or can catch them on a sale I strongly suggest using these!

5 Months

Today is the girls 5 month birthday! (3 months adjusted)

They are doing great developmentally!  Both are grabbing hold of things and pulling them to their mouth instantly.  Sometimes they are even grabbing them from the air!  They can hold their heads up better when sat up.  Hopefully soon will be able to sit up on their own.

Oakley has been talking more and more everyday, starting just last week.  As of yesterday Kenzlee has started talking as well.  Completely different voices and ways of speech though.  Oakley will coo and giggle and almost sing.  Kenzington on the other hand will giggle/laugh then screech as loud as she can!  Both adorable as I'll get out!

I've said it before, they're so cute I just want to pop their heads off put em in my pocket and use them as stress balls! =D

Going to bed has gotten so much easier for them.  They let us know when they are sleepy and will generally get comfy once laid down in their cribs.  They tend to still wake up once in the night around 4-5.  Then again around 7 and are either up for the day or then back to sleep till 10.

We still haven't gotten their pictures taken professionally but plan to very soon.

Their ears are pierced and their hair is starting to grow back in.  Mostly in blondes/dirty blondes.

Lately they have gotten mom hungry and will wine and cry if I leave the room for too long.  Once they see me again they instantly stop and will giggle and almost have convulsions from the excitement!

We are very excited for their first Halloween and cannot wait to take some cute pictures.

November will be a big step for them since they will be going on their first long vacation, not to mention long drive.  We will be traveling home to Washington to spend time with family. We all cannot wait!
